Q: How did Jill's Pet Palace get started? A: Jill and friends love animals and enjoy taking care of them for you in your absence. In addition to my Mom's frustration I explain on the "About Us" page, we all agreed that we would love the option to leave our pets in a friend's care at our home, and thought you might like that too! Separation anxiety is bad enough when owners travel, so we didn't want to leave our pets in a small cage or run at a kennel. We knew that our pets would be happier in our own home where they feel most comfortable.
Jill's Pet Palace is a great alternative and usually less expensive than doggie day care or a kennel.
Q: How much do you charge? A: Jill's Pet Palace charges $30 a day, $20 a 1/2 day, for up to 5 pets. Overnight visits are an additional $20.00 a night. If you have more than 5 pets, please call and we'll work with you to come up with a reasonable rate. We're happy to bring in the mail, turn lights on and off, take out the trash and water plants at no additional charge.
Q: What takes place during an initial consultation. A: We really enjoy coming over to your place and getting to know you and your loved ones during our initial "walk-through" visit. We have a Pet Palace "new client information sheet" and we collect all the necessary information about your pet, food and exercise routines, favorite toys, leashes and bedding. We also ask for your contact information while you're away. Just in case of an unforseen incident, we also ask for the Veterinary Doctor or animal clinic of your choice. If you do not have a primary care Veterinarian, we will administer services if necessary, and perhaps transport your pet to a nearby emergency care facility. *We have not had an emergency as such to date. Also, we know a vet technician that we can call if we have any concerns.
Q: Can I request that you call me with a mid-week update or is it OK to call you to check on my animals while we're away? A: Yes, we welcome the chance to offer pet updates during our service dates. Please don't hesitate to call with any questions, or to see how your pets are doing.
Q: How far in advance should I call to reserve a Jill's Pet Palace pet sitter? A: It's a good idea to call as far in advance as possible. The sooner you reserve your spot you can rest assured your pets will be cared for in your home while you're gone.
